MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (ORAL) Petitioner is seeking issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to conduct the investigation expeditiously, fairly and properly on the complaint dated 14.11.2023 (Annexure P-3) submitted by the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a complaint was given on 14.11.2023 (Annexure P-3) to the police authorities, however, it had failed to yield any response. It has been submitted that the official respondents were under a legal obligation to pass an appropriate order on his complaint.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Arun Luthra, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

In the wake of the limited prayer of the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of and respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, is directed to look into the PUNEET SACHDEVA 2024.01.11 14:12 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document.

However, if respondent No.2 does not find any substance in the allegations levelled in the complaint dated 14.11.2023 (Annexure P-3), then the petitioner shall be duly informed as per the parameters laid down by the Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari v. Government of Uttar Pradesh & Ors. 2013 (4) RCR (Criminal) 979.
