Petitioners'-family is aggrieved by continuous interference and harassment at the hands of police officials, who are tracing their son namely Akashdeep Singh, with whom they are not at all in any connection whatsoever. 2.

State's counsel submits that the police is under statutory obligation to trace out any fugitive and in that connection, if they visit his house, it cannot be termed as harassment. However, State's counsel submits that they undertake not to harass the petitioners in any manner whatsoever, but it does not mean that they cannot exercise their right to search Akashdeep Singh.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction that whenever a search is made in the house of the petitioners, at least one member of the Gram Panchayat or any respectable villager, preferably a female, shall also accompany the police team/official(s). 4.

Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of. However, this order shall remain in force till 31.12.2024 and the same shall eclipse thereafter. Liberty is reserved to the petitioners to approach this Court, in case need arises. All pending applications, if any, shall stand disposed of.
