The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to issue him passport with correct date of birth.

The petitioner was issued passport on 18.01.2016 which was valid upto 17.01.2021. The petitioner at that point of time was minor. In the passport, the date of birth of the petitioner has been recorded as 09.07.2004 whereas as per petitioner his correct date of birth is 09.03.2003. The petitioner vide application dated 14.03.2022 has applied for re-issuance of passport with correct date of birth. The petitioner has furnished birth certificate issued by competent authority in support of his contention. Mr. K.K.Jund, Senior Panel Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that application of the petitioner, if still pending, would be disposed of within six weeks from today, in accordance with law. He assures the Court that competent authority would take care of the fact that petitioner at the time of original passport was minor and at this stage, he has furnished birth certificate. 4.

In the wake of statement of learned counsel for Union of India, the petition stands disposed of.
