$   Petitioner Vikas Kumar has filed petition under Section 482 read with Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No. 99 dated 27.08.2024 under Sections 498-A, 406, 323 of IPC, registered at Police Station Women, District Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar.

As per facts of case, complainant Komal filed written complaint against Vikas Kumar husband and others with the allegations that her marriage was performed on 11.11.2021. Her parents had given dowry as per the demand of her husband and in-laws family. They lived together as husband and wife. No child is born out of this wedlock. The detail of dowry articles given at the time of marriage is mentioned in the FIR. The accused persons were unhappy with

  dowry articles. She was not permitted to use the same. She was being illtreated and harassed for bringing less dowry. There was demand for more dowry and cash of Rs.3 Lacs. Her in-laws had raised a loan for construction of house and in order to repay the same, she was compelled to bring cash of Rs.3 Lacs. Her parents had given more dowry articles and cash of Rs.1,50,000/- under compelled circumstances. The maltreatment started all the more. She had narrated various incidents which took place in the matrimonial home. Finally, the matter was reported to the police.

Learned counsel for petitioner argued that arrest of petitioner was stayed subject to joining of investigation vide order dated 11.03.2025. He has joined the investigation and matter has been settled between them. It is pointed out that petitioner is still ready and willing to join investigation as and when required.

Learned counsel representing State referred to status report. It is confirmed that petitioner had joined investigation and compromise arrived at between the parties is also confirmed.

I have considered the aforesaid factual position. During the course of arguments, learned counsel representing petitioner has placed on record one photocopy of compromise attested on 05.05.2025. The compromise is confirmed by the investigating agency. Petitioner is willing to join investigation as and when required. No purpose would be served by sending him behind the bars. Therefore, without expressing my mind on merits, anticipatory bail petition filed by petitioner Vikas Kumar is allowed. He be not arrested. In case of his arrest, he be released on bail to the satisfaction of Arresting/Investigating Officer

 concerned, subject to condition that petitioner will join investigation as and when required. He will not tamper with or interfere with investigation and will not leave country without prior permission as provided under Section 482(2) of BNSS, 2023.

Pending application(s), if any, also stands disposed of accordingly.
