The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to count the service rendered as Special Police Officer for qualifying service for the purpose of pensionary/retiral benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that case of the petitioner is squarely covered by the judgments of this Court in Harbans Lal Vs. State of Punjab in CWP No.2371 of 2010 and Sukhjit Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others in CWP No.9936 of 2017.

CWP No. 31846 of 2024 -2respondent authorities in the case of various officials have considered their claim and passed orders. He further asserts that appropriate authority would consider case of the petitioner in terms of judgments of this Court in Harbans Lal (Supra) and Sukhjit Singh (supra) and pass an appropriate order within 3 months from today.
