(ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition is for seeking setting aside of order dated 01.12.2023 passed by respondent No.2, whereby application of the petitioner for grant of parole of 56 days under Section 3(1)(d) of the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary) Release Act, 1962, was dismissed.

Learned State counsel has filed the reply by way of affidavit of Superintendent, Central Jail, Faridkot, which is taken on record. Copy supplied to the counsel opposite. Learned State counsel has submitted that the case of the petitioner has not been approved for parole as he is insistent that he would be stationed in Bathinda during the parole and not Moga, which is his native place. 3.
However, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is ready to give an undertaking that he will not leave the jurisdiction of District Moga during the period of parole. 4.
In the circumstances, the instant petition is disposed of with directions to the State to decide the case of the petitioner for grant of parole, expeditiously, preferably within the next four weeks in PUNEET SACHDEVA 2024.03.04 17:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
