On 22.12.2023, the following order was passed by this Court:- "The petitioner through the instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking directions to respondents to issue him passport.
Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner vide application dated 10.06.2023 applied for re-issuance of passport. The petitioner was initially issued passport on 16.03.2012 which expired on 15.03.2022. An FIR No. 202 dated 11.07.2023 under Sections 323, 506, 34 IPC, was registered against the petitioner at Police Station Ram Nagar, Karnal. The police after completing investigation has filed its report under Section 173 Cr.P.C. on PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2024.01.09 14:40 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Ms. Shreyansi Verma, Central Government Counsel submits that petitioner was issued show casue notice dated 04.10.2023 and he is neither responding to said show cause notice nor appearing before the authorities.

Without commenting upon merits of the case, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to petitioner to appear before passport authority on 18.01.2024 alongwith requisite documents. On doing so, the passport authority shall pass order, in accordance with law, within three weeks from 18.01.2024.
