In the petition, it has been stated that both the petitioners are into live-in-relationship which has been opposed by private respondents No.4 to 6 who are related to petitioner No.1. 3.
Counsel for the petitioners inter alia submits that both the petitioners have attained the age of majority but are unmarried. It is further submitted that both the petitioners are presently into live-in-relationship against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 6. That the said respondents are extending threats to cause physical harm to the petitioners and in this regard petitioners have already submitted their Priyanka Thakur 2024.11.29 17:01 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
) representation dated 27.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 i.e. Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar but the police authorities failed to take any action till date.

* &+'' &, ! ! *-accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 and submits that apparently, it appears that both the petitioners are major and living together. In the given circumstances, in case any such representation submitted by the petitioners is pending, the same will be looked into and disposed of by the competent authority as per law, within a given time frame. 6.
In view of above, without going into the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar to consider and decide representation dated 27.11.2024 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law and if the situation so warrants to take necessary steps in this regard within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 7.
However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion regarding the validity of the relationship between the petitioners. It is also made clear that respondents No.4 to 6 are at liberty to avail appropriate remedy available to them under law against the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
