MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3, to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner, who apprehend threat to his life at the hands of respondent No.4. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that despite a representation dated 30.10.2023 (Annexure P-1) made to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, against respondent No.4, who allegedly entered the house of the petitioner in a drunken state and threatened to implicate him in a false case in case his demand of bribe was not adhered to, the official respondents had been sitting over the matter. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if directions are issued to respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, to look into his representation (Annexure P-1) and take appropriate steps at the earliest. 3.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a directions to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, to look into the representation dated 30.10.2023 (Annexure P-1) qua the alleged threat perception and take necessary steps, if any required, in accordance with law, to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioner is not jeopardized at the hands of respondent No.4.
