The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to issue travel document to enable him to visit India to face trial. 2.

The petitioner is a resident of Jalandhar, however, at present is staying in Italy. The petitioner has been implicated in three FIRs i.e. FIR No. 111 dated 27.04.2008, FIR No. 10 dated 19.01.2007 and FIR No. 230 dated 14.05.2000.

The petitioner has applied for emergency certificate/travel document. The petitioner wants to come to India to face trial. The passport of the petitioner has already expired. 3.

Ms. Shweta Nahata, Senior Penal Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that passport cannot be issued to the petitioner, however, emergency certificate/travel document PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2024.01.08 15:42 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP No.148 of 2024 -2- 2024:PHHC:000760 would be issued as and when he applies.
