In the present case, on 13.11.2025, following order was passed:- "1.

Present petition has been filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023, for issuing directions to respondents No.2 to 5 not to harass the petitioners and their family members by conducting multiple enquiries on various complaints made by respondent No.6, despite the fact that earlier enquiries have already been closed, having found the dispute to be of civil nature relating to joint property. 2.

Counsel for the petitioners contends that despite the dispute being civil in nature, the Police Department has, for several years, been unnecessarily involving itself by repeatedly summoning the petitioners, thereby causing undue harassment. He refers to the enquiry reports dated 24.12.2024 (P-4) and 01.03.2025 (P-6), wherein the Police Department itself concluded that the dispute is purely civil. 3.

Learned State counsel is directed to look into the allegations against the concerned police officials and explain how the Police Department is taking interest in a civil dispute. A detailed status report be filed in this regard.

Learned State counsel has apprised the Court that, as of now, no complaint is pending. Rather, after inquiry into the complaint already submitted, the same has been consigned to the record room. In view of the explanation furnished by learned State counsel as well as the status report dated 14.12.2025 placed on record, no useful purpose would now be served by keeping the present petition pending for issuance of any further directions.

However, it is expected that the petitioners shall not be harassed unnecessarily by being called by the police officials merely on the basis of frivolous complaints submitted by respondent No.6. Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
