CHANDIGARH CRWP-11205-2025 Date of Decision:-23.03.2026 DALJIT SINGH ......PETITIONER VS.

STATE OF PUNJAB AND OTHERS .....RESPONDENTS CORAM:-HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE JASJIT SINGH BEDI

Present:

Mr. Sandeep Arora, Advocate for the petitioner(s). Mr. M.S. Toor, AAG Punjab.

(THROUGH VIDEO CONFERENCING) **** JASJIT SINGH BEDI , J.(ORAL ) 1.

The prayer in the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos.1 and 3 to take appropriate steps for safeguarding and protecting the life and liberty of the petitioner in lieu of threats faced by him at the hands of respondent No.4 and his associates who made a murderous assault upon the petitioner. 2.

On issuance of notice, the State counsel has filed a reply dated 23.11.2025. A perusal of the same would reveal that a detailed inquiry was conducted. It has been found that the petitioner and respondent No.4 are involved in a civil dispute in relation to plot no.24, Friends Colony, Jalandhar. The allegations that the petitioner was assaulted on 27.09.2025 near the HMV Petrol Pump by unidentified persons have been found to be baseless inasmuch as the petitioner has not been able to furnish any independent corroborative evidence of the same such as medical documents, CCTV footage, audio/video recording etc. 3.

In view of the above, the present petition stands dismissed. 4.

All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, stand disposed of.
