The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 4 to re-issue him passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 14.06.2006 which expired on 13.06.2016. The petitioner was implicated in two FIRs. The petitioner was awarded sentence of one year in FIR No. 30 dated 17.06.2010. The petitioner has already undergone the awarded sentence. The petitioner vide judgment dated 15.12.2022 has been acquitted in FIR No. 108 dated 08.11.2017. The petitioner applied for passport on 02.03.2023 and application of the petitioner was followed by representation dated 19.12.2023.

Faced with this, Ms. Archana Vashisht, Central Government Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, assures the Court that application of the petitioner shall be disposed of within six weeks from today considering the afore-stated judgment of this Court. 4.

In wake of statement of counsel for Union of India, the petition stands disposed of.
