The petitioners in the present petition are asking for directions to respondent Nos. 1 to 3 for protecting life, liberty and security of the petitioners, who are married since 20.12.2023 at the hands of private respondents.

On the asking of the Court, Ms. Anju Sharma Kaushik, DAG Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 3. She, on instructions from ASI Sukhmander Singh, states that father of the girl, petitioner No.2-herein has made a statement that they have no objection to the marriage of petitioner No.2 with petitioner No.1. A copy of the said statement in vernacular language is produced in Court, today and the same is taken on record.
