Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to respondents No.1 and 2 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his property of the Dera at the hands of private respondents. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner, who is 105 years old, is continuously subjected to harassment including threats of dire consequences in view of the fact that he is in possession of some piece of land qua which there is civil dispute pending between the parties, and there is also a decree in favour of the petitioner. It has also been submitted that a representation dated 30.11.2024 (Annexure P-5) has also been given to respondent No.2 - Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar but in vain as the private respondents and their henchmen are continuously extending threats to the petitioner.
