Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing respondents No.2 and 3 to take appropriate action against respondents No.4 to 7, who had been unduly threatening the petitioners to falsely implicate them as the petitioners, who are the prominent and respectable citizens of their area had been going to the police officials alongwith the local residents in connection with certain cases, however, the concerned police officials had misbehaved with the petitioners and the said police officials have amassed lot of wealth by corrupt means and now they are threatening and intimidating the petitioners to implicate them in false criminal cases.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have already filed a representation, dated 25.11.2024, Annexure P-3, before respondent No.2 for providing them protection of their life and liberty, MEENU 2024.12.17 17:45 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document however, no action has been taken on the same till date.

Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 5-State only. 4.

On asking of the Court, Mr.Tarun Aggarwal, Sr.DAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State and submits, on instructions from ASI Tarsem Singh, that Superintendent of Police, Headquaters Amritsar, had already taken a cognizance in the matter and inquiry is being conducted and the same would be concluded expeditiously and the necessary action would be taken in accordance with law.
