submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present application. Keeping in view the aforesaid submissions made by learned senior counsel appearing for the applicant/petitioner, the present application is dismissed as withdrawn.

Petition herein is, inter alia, seeking appropriate directions permitting the petitioner to continue as the President, Municipal Council, Zirakpur, on the ground that the No-Confidence Motion Meeting held on 03.10.2025, in pursuance of order dated 23.09.2025 passed by a Division Bench of this Court in CWP No. 16128 of 2024, failed, as the requisite two-thirds majority, in terms of Section 25 read with Section 22 of the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911 (in short 'the 1911 Act'), was not obtained. 2.

Today, learned State counsel has handed over a copy of letter dated 11.11.2025, issued by the Department of Local Government, stating that the No-Confidence Motion Meeting held on 03.10.2025 has not been approved for want of majority of votes. The same is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions.

2.1 Learned State counsel, while referring to the aforesaid letter, has very fairly submitted that in terms of the observations made by the Division Bench of this Court in CWP No. 16128 of 2024, the petitioner shall be deemed to be continuing as the President, Municipal Council, Zirakpur. 3.

In view of the aforesaid stand taken by learned State counsel, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that no further orders are required to be passed in the present writ petition and the same may be disposed of. However, he has requested that since the Office of the President, Municipal Council, Zirakpur had been sealed by the office bearers of the Municipal Council, an appropriate direction may be issued for

re-opening the said office.

At this stage, learned counsel for respondents No.5 and 6 submits that in view of the decision taken by the Government as indicated in the aforesaid letter dated 11.11.2025, and since the No-Confidence Motion Meeting against the petitioner has failed, the Office of the President, Municipal Council, Zirakpur, shall be opened today itself. 5.

Keeping in view the aforesaid submissions made by learned counsel for the respective parties, the present writ petition is disposed of, accordingly.
