The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short-'BNSS') for quashing of FIR No.298 dated 16.10.2024 under Sections 316(2) and 318(4) of the BNS registered at Police Station Julana District Jind Haryana and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 18.11.2024 as Annexure- P-1.

Mr. Rakesh Kumar Jangra, AAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. Learned State counsel states that no other FIR has been registered against the petitioner and they have no known criminal antecedents.

Mr. Amit Gautam, Advocate appears and accepts notice on behalf of respondent No. 2 in the Court. He confirms the factum of the compromise Renu Rawat 2025.11.28 16.56 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-61534-2024  having been effected between the parties and states that respondent No. 2 has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question. 5.

In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 6.

Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No.298 dated 16.10.2024 under Sections 316(2) and 318(4) of the BNS registered at Police Station Julana District Jind Haryana and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise as Annexure- P-1 shall stand quashed qua the petitioner subject to payment of costs of Rs.10,000/- to be deposited with the Punjab and Haryana High Court Employees Welfare Association Fund having Account No.37167209613 in State Bank of India, High Court Branch, Chandigarh, IFSC Code No.SBIN0050306.
