Advocate General, Punjab. **** SHEEL NAGU, CHIEF JUSTICE (Oral) The petitioner has filed the present petition for grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 152 dated 12.08.2024 under Sections 333, 118(1), 3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita-2023 (Section 109 of BNS reduced to 118(2) of BNS) registered at Police Station Sadar Shri Muktsar Sahib, District Shri Muktsar Sahib. 2.

The petitioner is in custody since 12.08.2024 for the commission of offence of murder.

Learned State counsel submits that charge-sheet has been filed before the trial Court and the prosecution witnesses are yet to be examined. Though the petitioner has no criminal antecedents but considering the fact that grievous injuries were inflicted and looking to the gravity of the offence, it would be appropriate that examination of the injured-complainant or the main prosecution witnesses to be completed before the bail application of the petitioner is considered. Therefore, the application of the petitioner for grant of regular bail is dismissed for the time being with liberty to come again after examination of main prosecution witnesses or if the trial gets further delayed, whichever is earlier. 3.
