...Respondents

CORAM:

HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE SHALINI SINGH NAGPAL

Present:

Mr. Sandeep Arora, Advocate for the petitioner.

Mr. Hardeep Singh Wadhwa, DAG Punjab, for respondent No.1.

Mr. G. S. Rawat, Advocate for respondent No.2 SHALINI SINGH NAGPAL (Oral) ***

Learned DAG for the State of Punjab and counsel for respondent No.2 have not raised any dispute regarding the factum of compromise. Since the matter has been amicably resolved, continuation of the criminal proceedings would be an exercise in futility. The dispute which has its genesis in a matrimonial discord, as per settled principles of law, warrants exercise of powers under Section 482 Cr.P.C.

Following principles of law laid down by the Full Bench Judgment of this Court in "Kulwinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab" 2007(3) RCR 1052 and Hon'ble Supreme Court in "Gian Singh Versus State

of Punjab and others" (2012) 10 SCC 303, the petition is allowed. (SHALINI SINGH NAGPAL) JUDGE 07.08.2025 harpreet Whether speaking/reasoned:
