The prayer in the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for directing the official respondent Nos.2 and 3 to take action on the detailed representation dated 25.10.2025 (Annexure P3) for protecting the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents.

On 28.10.2025, the following order was passed:- "Notice of motion.
On advance notice, Ms. Ramta Chaudhary, learned DAG, Punjab appeared and has placed on record a copy of joint statement shown to be recorded of the petitioners on 27.10.2025 and contents of which show that they have performed marriage and they have no apprehension or threat perception at the hands of the private respondents and accordingly, they do not want to pursue the present petition.

The learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Malkit Singh, submits that the statements of the petitioners have been recorded, wherein they have stated that they do not face any threat at the hands of the private respondents.
