**** JASJIT SINGH BEDI, J. (Oral) The prayer in the criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus for the release of the alleged detenue, namely, Bhawna aged about 23 years, who has been illegally detained by respondent Nos.4 and 5.

The learned State counsel has filed a reply dated 11.11.2025 by way of an affidavit of Tejinder Pal Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, (Rural) Abohar, District Fazilka, which is taken on record. While referring to the said reply, she contends that the statement of the detenue, namely Bhawna, has been recorded as per which she has been residing happily with respondent No.4, namely Rohit Kumar, as his wife at his house situated at 45 NDR, Pandtawali, Tehsil Pilibanga, District Hanumangarh, Rajasthan.
