HARPREET SINGH BRAR J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondent No.4. Learned State counsel in compliance of the order dated 19.12.2024, has filed status report by way of affidavit of Jaspinder Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Zirakpur, District S.A.S. Nagar, Mohali, today in the Court which is taken on record. Learned State counsel, at the very outset, submits that the statement of the petitioners have been recorded by the jurisdictional police authorities and the petitioners have submitted that they are not having apprehension of danger to their life and liberty in any manner from respondent No.4 or anybody else.
