(ORAL) The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing the official respondents to hold a time bound inquiry into the alleged fraud and embezzlement of panchayat funds by the private respondents.

On advance service of copy of petition, has appeared on behalf of the respondent/State. 2.1 Learned State counsel submits that as regards the allegations levelled against the private respondents for the alleged fraud and embezzlement of panchayat funds, an inquiry is already pending before the District Development and Panchayat Officer, Hoshiarpur and that the matter would be taken to its logical end and in all probability, the proceedings would be completed within a period of six months from today. 3.
