*** HARSH BUNGER, J. (Oral) The instant Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing the respondents to issue passport to the petitioner. 2.

Ms. Amrita Singh, Advocate, who has appeared on behalf of the respondent(s)-Union of India, pursuant to the advance copy of petition having been sent to the Union of India, informs that in reference to the application seeking issuance of passport, submitted by the petitioner, the Regional Passport Office, Amritsar had issued a communication/letter dated 28.09.2024 to the petitioner for calling upon certain information, however, the same has not been responded to by the petitioner till date. 2.1 Learned counsel for the respondent(s)-Union of India further submits that in case, the petitioner responds to the said communication/letter dated 28.09.2024 and the requisite information/documents are provided, then HIMANI GUPTA 2025.01.23 13:13 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh

Learned counsel for the petitioner, in view of the statement made by learned counsel appearing for the respondent(s)-Union of India, submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition at this stage with liberty to the petitioner to approach the concerned authorities and also to respond to the communication/letter dated 28.09.2024. 4.

In view of the above, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn at this stage with liberty aforesaid. 5.
