On advance service of copy of petition, Ms. Neha Sharma, Senior Panel Counsel, Union of India, appears on behalf of the respondents and opposes issuance of notice of motion. She further submits that the Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh, S.C.O. 42-51, Pocket-1, Near Bus Stands Jalandhar/competent authority shall take decision either way, on the pending legal notice dated 28.11.2024 (Annexure P-5) within a period of four weeks from today.

Keeping in view the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh, S.C.O. 42-51, Pocket-1, Near Bus Stands Jalandhar/competent authority to consider and decide legal notice dated 28.11.2024 (Annexure P-5) by way of passing a speaking order, after affording due opportunity of hearing to all the concerned parties, within a period of four weeks from today.
