The petitioner is seeking issuance of direction to official respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner by providing police protection to her and not to harass her illegally at the behest of respondent No.4 who is husband of the petitioner. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is apprehending threats to her life and the life of her family members at the hands of her husband-respondent No.4. It has been submitted by the learned counsel that respondent No.-4 has been subjecting the petitioner to mental as well as physical torture; despite she making complaint dated 11.12.2024 (Annexure P-2) in the said regard to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, the Authorities concerned have not come to her rescue till date. A prayer has, therefore, been made by the learned counsel to issue appropriate directions to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur. 3.

CRWP-12263-2024 -2respondent No.4, learned counsel for the petitioner has replied in the negative. However, till date, the accused person/private respondent No.4 has been roaming around freely and extending threats to the petitioner; the police has made no efforts to arrest the accused person/private respondent. 3.
After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if appropriate directions are issued to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, to look into the representation dated 11.12.2024 (Annexure P-2) of the petitioner and take appropriate action in accordance with law. 4.

On asking of the Court, Mr.H.S.Deol, Sr.DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents. 6.
In view of the restricted prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, to look into the representation dated 11.12.2024 (Annexure P-2) of the petitioner and take immediate appropriate action, if required, in accordance with law.
