AARADHNA SAWHNEY , J (ORAL) Petitioner, at whose instance, criminal case bearing FIR No.0100 dated 11.09.2025 was registered against the private respondents for commission of offence punishable under Sections 333,115(2),117(2),351(3),191(3) and 190 of BNS, has filed the present petition praying therein to direct respondent No.2 to protect his life and liberty from the hands of private respondents, as also to decide his representation in a time bound manner.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioner was married to respondent No.4 in 2020. Out of the wedlock, a female child was born, who is living with the petitioner. Unfortunately, the married life of the couple has not been smooth due to temperamental differences. They used to quarrel over petty issues. On 20.08.2025, as well, a verbal altercation occurred over a minor trivial issue, which took an ugly turn, when the petitioner was assaulted by respondent No.4 and his family members. Multiple injuries were caused to her. Based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner and her medicolegal report, aforesaid FIR was registered against the private respondents. CRWP-12021-2025 Continuing further, learned counsel submits that after lodging of the FIR, Police Authorities are not investigating the matter. The private respondents are roaming free and are even threatening the petitioner to withdraw the said case/to enter into compromise.

Insofar as the present petition is concerned, learned counsel for the petitioner limits his prayer to direct the official respondents to decide representation dated 23.09.2025 (Annexure P.2), moved by the petitioner. 4.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3 and has no objection in deciding the representations filed on behalf of the petitioner. 6.
