***** DEEPAK SIBAL, J. (Oral) Through this petition the petitioner seeks issuance of directions to the respondents to remove encroachments from the cremation ground of Village Meham, Tehsil Meham, District Rohtak. 2.
In response to the notice issued by this Court, the State has filed a short reply as per which the temporary encroachments from the cremation ground in question stand removed and that in the case of five encroachers who had made permanent constructions, the Gram Panchayat has already initiated proceedings for their eviction under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulations) Act, 1961 (for short-the Act). 3.
No replication has been filed by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In the light of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the Assistant Collector, Grade I before whom the Gram Panchayat of the Village has filed the 05 eviction petitions, to finally PRINCE SAINI 2025.09.15 22:03 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-34828-2024 -2dispose of the same within two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order, in accordance with law.

In case, the petitioner is still aggrieved by any other temporary or permanent encroachment in the cremation ground in question for which encroachments the Gram Panchayat has so far not initiated any eviction proceedings under Section 7 of the Act, it shall be open to the petitioner to initiate eviction proceedings against those encroachers which proceedings shall also be disposed of by the A.C within four months from the date of their filing, in accordance with law.
