**** RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the present petition, filed under Articles 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus for recovery and production of minor girl Sukhpreet Kaur, aged 17 years, from the illegal custody of respondent No.4.

Petitioners in person are present in Court today and the Court has interacted with them along with their counsel. 3.
On 03.12.2025, the State was directed to produce the detenue, Sukhpreet Kaur, and respondent No.4, Sandeep Singh. Today, both the detenue and respondent No.4 are present in Court, and the Court has interacted with them as well.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the detenue has performed marriage with Sandeep Singh, respondent No.4 by concealing her age as she was minor at the time of marriage.

ASI Harmeet Singh is also present in Court and has informed the Court that the detenue's date of birth is 18.11.2007. He submits that when protection RENU BALA 2025.12.13 12:52 I agree to specified portions of this document
CRWP-12112-2025 -2was granted to the detenue and respondent No.4 on 14.10.2025, was one month short of attaining 18 years of age. However, as of today, the detenue has stated before the Court that she is happily married to respondent No.4, and both of them have now attained majority. The detenue further submits that although protection was granted to them, their relatives are continuously threatening them. ASI Harmeet Singh has also submitted that appropriate steps will be taken to ensure the protection of the life and liberty of the detenue, Sukhpreet Kaur, and respondent No.4, Sandeep Singh.
