Petition herein is, inter alia, for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus to direct respondents No.3 and 4 for taking action against Ashirwad International Hotel, situated opposite to the Celebration Mall, Batala Road, Amritsar; under the provisions of Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976 read with Building Bye Laws, 2018, on the plea that

an illegal hotel, banquet hall and other commercial activities are being carried out in the said Ashirwad International Hotel. 2.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner, while referring to Annexure A-4, submits that although the Municipal Authorities have already initiated action against the said Ashirwad International Hotel; however, time bound direction be issued for final decision by the Municipal Authorities.

On the other hand, learned State counsel as well as learned counsel appearing for respondents No.3 and 4 submit that since action against Ashirwad International Hotel has already been initiated, therefore, the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous. 4.

Since the primary relief sought in the present writ petition was to direct the Municipal Authorities to take action against Ashirwad International Hotel for alleged violations and illegal running of hotel, banquet hall and other commercial activities and the Municipal Authorities have already swung into action, no further orders are required to be passed in this writ petition and the same is dismissed. 6.

It goes without saying that the proceedings initiated against the Ashirwad International Hotel be taken to its logical end, in accordance with law.

All the pending application(s), if any, shall also stand closed.
