Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to pay interest @ 10% to the petitioner on account of delay in payment of gratuity or in alternative direct the respondents to decide the representations dated 20.08.2024 and 27.09.2024 (Annexures P-2 and P-3), submitted by the petitioner and legal notice dated 02.12.2024 (Annexure P-4). 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has relied upon the judgment dated 31.07.2024 passed by this Court in CWP No.13435 of 2024, titled as "The Punjab State Cooperative Bank Limited vs Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Chandigarh and others" and other connected cases and submits that for claiming the aforesaid relief, the petitioners have submitted a legal notice dated 02.12.2024 (Annexure P-4) and at this stage, the petitioners would be satisfied, if MOHD YAKUB 2024.12.20 14:24 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh

CWP No.35058 of 2024 the said legal notice is decided by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioners and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 to consider and decide the legal notice dated 02.12.2024 (Annexure P-4), submitted by the petitioners expeditiously, by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

A copy of this order be sent to the respondents for information and compliance.
