The prayer in the present application is for impleading the applicant, Smt. Navneet Pal Sandhu, as co-petitioner No.2 in the instant writ petition.

The ground urged in support of the prayer (supra) is that, during the pendency of the writ petition, the sole petitioner, a senior citizen, unfortunately passed away on the intervening night of 10th and 11th November, 2025.

This Court finds no reason to allow the applicant to be impleaded as co-petitioner No.2 in the present writ petition, particularly when the senior citizen, who was the sole applicant before the Maintenance Tribunal, has expired. However, if the applicant has any independent grievance and is otherwise eligible to initiate proceedings under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 DEVINDER YADAV 2025.11.20 09:45 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
CWP-33318-2025 (O&M) (hereinafter referred to as <the Act of 2007=), she shall be at liberty to institute an independent motion in accordance with law. 4.
In view of the above, the present application stands dismissed. CWP-33318-2025 5.
The petitioner, a senior citizen, had approached this Court seeking a direction to respondent No.2- Maintenance Tribunal to expeditiously decide her application filed under the Act of 2007. 6.
On the previous date of hearing, i.e. 11.11.2025, this Court, without issuing notice, had directed the learned State counsel to have instructions from respondent No.2 and inform this Court as to the time required for conclusion of the petitioner9s proceedings pending before it. 7.
Today, it has been brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner/senior citizen has passed away on the intervening night of 10th and 11th November, 2025. Since the petitioner has expired and the Maintenance Tribunal has not yet adjudicated her application, as informed by the learned State counsel on instructions from Ms. Poonampreet Kaur, S.D.M., the writ petition stands abated.

Disposed of accordingly.
