Status report dated 19.01.2026 in the shape of affidavit by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division City Batala, Police District Batala on behalf of the respondents No.1 and 2 has been filed which is taken on record. Copy supplied to the opposite party.

This petition under Section 528 of the Nharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 was filed by the petitioner seeking directions to the respondents to conduct a fair, impartial and effective investigation in FIR No.180 dated 24.11.2019 under Section 154 Cr.PC (AnnexureP-2) registered at Police Station City Batala, District Gurdaspur or in the alternative, to transfer the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investiation (CBI).

As per the status report submitted by the respondents No.1 CRM-M-63817-2025 (O&M) and 2, the investigation in the case has been completed. Since, the accused could not be arrested, they have been declared proclaimed offenders. The challan has been presented before the Court in their absence. After recording the evidence under Section 299 of Cr.P.C., the file has been consigned to the record room to be taken up as and when the presence of the accused is secured.

In view of the above, nothing further survives for adjudication in the present petition, and the same is accordingly dismissed as infructuous.
