*** HARSH BUNGER, J. (Oral) The instant Writ Petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondent No.2 to issue passport to the petitioner as per her application dated 18.11.2024.

Ms. Shreyansi Verma, Central Govt. Counsel, who has appeared on behalf of the respondent-Union of India, pursuant to the advance copy of petition having been sent to the Union of India, informs the Court that the application dated 18.11.2024, seeking issuance of the passport, submitted by the petitioner was considered and as per the police verification report, it was found that the petitioner was not an Indian national and accordingly, a show cause notice dated 25.11.2024 has already been issued to her and the same has not been responded to till date.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner prays that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition with liberty to the HIMANI GUPTA 2025.01.09 14:42 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh
