Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of BNSS, 2023, is for issuance of directions to official respondents No.2 & 3, to provide protection of lives and liberty of the petitioners, at the hands of private respondents No.4 & 5. 2.

Counsel for the petitioners contends that Ranjit Singh, who is husband of petitioner No.1 and son of petitioner No.2, is in fact, involved in a murder case and under the pretext of arresting him, police is unnecessarily visiting the house of the petitioners and also calling them to the police station, thus, causing undue harassment in their personal lives. 3.

Notice of motion.

On advance notice, Mr. Amandeep Singh, DAG, Punjab, puts in appearance and on instructions from ASI Parminder Singh, submits that no particular instance of harassment has been highlighted in the present petition. CWP-190-2025 - 2 - accused - Ranjit Singh, some of the police officials in discharge to their official duties, have been visiting the house of the petitioners. 5.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and after examining of the present petition, and as submitted by the learned State counsel, finds that no instance has been highlighted in the petition, more particular, any kind of harassment on a particular date.

Therefore, finding no surviving cause with the petitioners, the present petition is hereby dismissed.

However, it is expected at the police authorities that investigation in the murder case of Ranjit Singh would be conducted by it, in accordance with law.
