However, today, learned State Counsel has filed another affidavit of Jaswant Singh Braich, District Development and Panchayat Officer, Pathankot, with regard to subsequent compliance report and the same is taken on record. Along with the affidavit, there is an order dated 27.03.2026, passed by Deputy Commissioner, whereby the private members, namely, Niranjan Singh, Panch of Ward No.3, Karam Chand, Panch of Ward No.5, Rita Kumari, Panch of Ward No.6 and Reena Rani, Panch of Ward No.7, Gram Panchayat Jangal, District Pathankot, were placed under suspension, with immediate effect.

COCP-5568-2025 (O&M) Taking into consideration the requisite order passed by the Deputy Commissioner, Pathankot, at this stage, counsel for the petitioner submits that he does not want to pursue with the contempt petition and the same be dismissed as having become infructuous. Ordered accordingly.
