In terms of order dated 15.01.2026, learned counsel for the petitioner has produced receipt qua deposit of costs, which is taken on record.

Instant petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of certiorari for quashing the speaking order dated 20.05.2025 (Annexure P-4), passed by respondent No.3 whereby petitioner has been ignored from absorbing/continuation as Mechanic on contract basis in Punjab Roadways (PUNBUS). Further, a writ of mandamus has been sought directing the respondents to consider and absorb the petitioner on contract basis at par with other similarly situated co-petitioners in terms of order dated 30.01.2023 (Annexure P-2), passed by this Court in CWP-14968 of 2015 - Bishan

Singh and others v. State of Punjab and others, with all consequential benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the persons namely Jajbir Singh son of Baldev Singh and Khushwant Singh son of Paramjeet Singh (merit Nos.177 & 178) lower in merit than the petitioner in the combined merit list (Annexure P-7) have been converted from outsource to contract basis and whereas the petitioner, who is at merit No.175, has been ignored. He submits that for redressal of the said grievance, petitioner has submitted representation dated 27.05.2025 (Annexure P-6), which is still pending consideration before the respondents-authorities. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that at this stage, petitioner would be satisfied, if the said representation is considered and disposed of by passing a speaking order in a timebound frame. 4.

Mr. Satnampreet Singh Chauhan, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and has no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner. 6.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner in the present petition, respondent No.3 is directed to consider and decide the claim made by the petitioner in the representation dated 27.05.2025 (Annexure P-6) in

accordance with law, by passing a speaking order within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 8.

The petition stands disposed of.
