**** DEEPAK MANCHANDA J. (ORAL) Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 for providing protection of life and liberty to the petitioners, who are living together in a live-in-relationship.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that petitioner No.1 is married whereas petitioner No.2 is unmarried. It has been submitted that the relations of the husband of petitioner No.1 was not cordial with her. From the first marriage of petitioner No.1, no child was born and her husband went to Germany and did not turn up and openly saying that he would not come back to India. Therefore, one day she managed to escape from the shackles of private respondents and joined the company of petitioner No.2 and since then she is living with petitioner No.2 in a live in relationship. It has been alleged that when this fact came to the knowledge of respondents No.4 and 5, they started threatening the petitioners to kill SONIA BURA 2024.12.31 17:48 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-12617-2024 -2them for the sake of family prestige. Thus, there is danger of life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No.4 and 5. Learned counsel for the petitioners further contends that petitioners have submitted a representation (Annexures P-3) dated 23.12.2024 to respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Gurdaspur and the same has not been decided till date. It is further contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that petitioners would be satisfied if the representation dated 23.12.2024 (Annexure P-3) is decided by the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Gurdaspur.

Notice of motion restricted to respondent Nos. 1 to 3, only. 4.

Mr. Malkiat Singh, D.A.G. Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3 and has no objection if the present petition is disposed of directing the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Gurdaspur to decide the representation dated 23.12.2024 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law. 5.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Gurdaspur to decide the representation (Annexures P-3) of the petitioners after taking into consideration all the relevant aspects, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, in accordance with law.
