AARADHNA SAWHNEY , J (ORAL) By way of filing present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has sought for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus, directing the official respondents to get the detenues released from the illegal custody of respondent Nos.4 & 5.

Status report filed by way of affidavit of Tarlochan Singh, DSP, Samrala, Police District Khanna, District Ludhiana in Court today is taken on record. It stands noticed therein that the inquiry was conducted by the Naib Tehsildar, Samrala, who recorded statement of the detenues, vide which they pointed out that they have not been illegally detained by the brick kiln owner. Allegations levelled by the petitioner that detenues have been illegally detained by the private respondents were thus found to be false. Faced with the situation, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the petition.
