1 2 The prayer in the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 is for issuance of an appropriate writ/direction to respondents No.2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner.

The learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner had got registered an FIR No. 54 dated 20.05.2025 under Sections 318(2) and 318(3) of BNS, Police Station Fatehgarh Churian against her nephew6respondent No.5/Sukhdeep Singh. She is facing a threat to her life and liberty at the instance of the said nephew6respondent No.5. Therefore, appropriate directions be issued to the investigating agency to ensure the protection of her life and liberty.

The learned counsel for the State, on the other hand, contends that respondent No.56Sukhdeep Singh was arrested on 02.12.2025 and has since been granted bail.

Keeping in view the age of the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with the directions to the respondent No.26Director General of Police, Punjab to ensure that adequate protection is provided to the petitioner in accordance with law.

The pending application(s), if any, shall stand disposed of accordingly.
