The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short-'BNSS') for quashing of FIR No. 0003 dated 10.01.2021 under Section 420 of IPC, 1860 and Section 13 of Punjab Travel Professional (Regulation) Act, 2014 registered at Police Station Basti Bawa Khel District Jalandhar, Punjab along with subsequent proceedings with all the consequential proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of compromise deed dated 08.06.2021.

Mr. Rishabh Singla, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent No.1-State. He states that no other FIR has been registered against the petitioners and they have no known criminal antecedents. 4.

CRM-M-65365-2025 factum of the compromise having been effected between the parties and states that respondent No. 2 has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question. 5.
In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 6.
Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No. 0003 dated 10.01.2021 under Section 420 of IPC, 1860 and Section 13 of Punjab Travel Professional (Regulation) Act, 2014 registered at Police Station Basti Bawa Khel District Jalandhar, Punjab and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom shall stand quashed qua the petitioner on the basis of compromise subject to payment of Rs. 10,000/- as costs in the Punjab State Legal Services Authority Disaster Relief Fund bearing Account No. 44426937384 IFSC Code SBIN0014656 Branch Name Sector 68 SAS Nagar, Mohali. 7.
