The present petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus directing the respondent authorities to get the detenue namely Balwinder Singh @ Kulwinder Singh, who is son of the petitioner be released as he is kept in illegal custody by respondent No.4 against his wishes.
In compliance to order dated 17.11.2025, reply by way of an affidavit of Jaspal Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Zira, District Ferozepur on behalf of respondent-State has been filed in Court which is taken on record and a copy thereof has been supplied to learned counsel opposite.

As per reply, it is specifically mentioned that Balwinder Singh, son of the petitioner has been arrested in case bearing FIR No.189 Sonia Puri 2025.12.10 15:19 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
-2- dated 16.11.2025 under Section 21 of NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Makhu and other FIRs bearing No.27 dated 02.04.2024 under Sections 21, 29 of NDPS Act and Section 25 of Arms Act, registered at Police Station Mamdot, District Ferozepur and No.30 dated 18.03.2025 under Section 21 of NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Mamdot whereby 01 kg 30 grams of heroin which falls under the category of commercial quantity along with drug money of Rs.1,75,000/- has been recovered from the possession of Balwinder Singh (the alleged detenue) alongwith co-accused namely Manjit Singh and both the accused have been arrested. It is also mentioned that information regarding arrest of coaccused namely Manjit Singh has been duly given to his mother namely, Mohinder Kaur and further the police tried to contact the petitioner through phone, however the petitioner had not attended the phone call. It is further submitted that Balwinder Singh (the alleged detenue) and his co-accused were produced before the Illaqa Magistrate, Zira on 17.11.2025.

In view of the reply filed on behalf of the State, it is clear that detenue has been arrested in cases pertaining to afore-stated FIRs, thus, no further orders are required to be passed in the present case. 5.
Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of, with aforesaid observations.
