Given the nature of order being passed, notice of motion is being issued only to respondents No.1 to 3, at this stage, and there is no necessity to seek any response from official respondents No.1 to 3 or even to serve private respondent No.4.

Mr. Nirmaljeet Singh Diwana, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State, and does not oppose the aforesaid course suggested by learned counsel for the petitioner.

Keeping in view the submissions made by learned counsel for the respective parties, the present writ petition is dismissed as not pressed. However, since the matter relating to the appointment of Lambardar of Village Malakpur Bet, Tehsil and District Ludhiana, has been pending for more than six years, the learned Divisional Commissioner, Patiala, is directed to make an earnest endeavour to decide the same expeditiously and preferably within a period of two months from today, after affording due opportunity of hearing to all concerned parties. It is further directed that the learned Divisional Commissioner, Patiala, shall decide the matter purely on its own merits, without being influenced by any observations made by the learned Financial Commissioner (Appeals), Punjab, in order dated 24.03.2025 (Annexure P-16).

The present writ petition is disposed of in the aforestated terms. 7.
