For the reasons stated in the application, the same is allowed, and the original affidavits of the complainants as Annexure P-2 are ordered to be taken on record.

The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short-'BNSS') for quashing of FIR No.253 dated 09.12.2021 under Section 420 of IPC registered at Police Station Sadar Dhuri, District Sangrur as well as subsequent proceedings arising out from the aforesaid FIR on the basis of compromise dated 13.10.2025. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the matter has been compromised between the parties.

Mr. Rishabh Singla, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. Learned State counsel states that no other FIR has been registered against the petitioner and he has no known criminal antecedents. 5.

CRM-M-65565-2025(O&M)  Court today and the same is taken on record. He confirms the factum of the compromise having been effected between the parties and states that complainant has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question. 6.

In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 7.

Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No.253 dated 09.12.2021 under Section 420 of IPC registered at Police Station Sadar Dhuri, District Sangrur and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise shall stand quashed qua the petitioner subject to the condition to deposit a sum of Rs. 10,000/- as costs in the Punjab State Legal Services Authority Disaster Relief Fund bearing Account No. 44426937384 IFSC Code SBIN0014656 Banch Name Sector 68 SAS Nagar, Mohali. 8.
