The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for short-'BNSS') for quashing of FIR No.0038 dated 04.02.2024 under Sections 34, 504, 506 IPC (Section 34 deleted later on) registered at Police Station, Baldev Nagar, District Ambala and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 18.11.2025.

CRM-M-65867-2025  has been registered against the petitioner and he has no known criminal antecedents.

Mr. Smit Kamboj, Advocate appears and accepts notice on behalf of respondent No. 2 in the Court. He confirms the factum of the compromise having been effected between the parties and states that respondent No. 2 has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question. 5.

In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 6.

Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No.0038 dated 04.02.2024 under Sections 34, 504, 506 IPC (Section 34 deleted later on) registered at Police Station, Baldev Nagar, District Ambala and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise shall stand quashed qua the petitioner subject to payment of costs of Rs.10,000/- to be deposited with the Punjab and Haryana High Court Employees Welfare Association Fund having Account No.37167209613 in State Bank of India, High Court Branch, Chandigarh, IFSC Code No.SBIN0050306. 7.
