Present petition has been filed by the petitioner, seeking grant of interim regular bail for a period of five days, in case, FIR No.15, dated 22.03.2025, under Sections 21, 25 and 29 of NDPS Act, registered at Police Station SSOC, Amritsar, District Intelligence Wing (SSOC) Amritsar.

As per the allegations, on the basis of secret information, instant FIR was registered, stating therein that when the petitioner, along with his co-accused Sukhwinder Singh, Navjot Singh, and Gurpreet Singh @ Gopi, was travelling in an auto-rickshaw bearing registration No.PB-06-AW-8034 and a Hero Deluxe motorcycle, bearing registration No.PB-02-DY-9351 (black colour), they were intercepted, surrounded, and arrested. Upon search, total 4 kilograms of heroin was allegedly recovered from their joint possession.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner has been falsely implicated in the present case and has remained in custody since 22.03.2025, i.e., for approximately seven months. 4.

It is further submitted that marriage of the petitioner's real brother, Sagar, is scheduled to be solemnized on 29.11.2025, and petitioner, being the only real brother, is required to perform the essential rituals. Thus, counsel prays for grant of interim regular bail to the petitioner for a period of five days.

On advance notice, Mr. Neeraj Madaan, Sr. DAG, Punjab, puts an appearance on behalf of the respondent/State. 7.

Learned State counsel reads out paragraph No.6 of the order dated 11.11.2025 passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Amritsar, and for reference, paragraph No.6 of the said order is reproduced here under:- "6.

Nevertheless, this Court cannot lose sight of social realities. Keeping in view the wedding card placed on record and in order to allow reasonable opportunity to the applicant to attend the marriage of his brother, the Superintendent of Jail concerned is directed to ensure that the applicant-accused is permitted to attend the marriage function on 29.11.2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the time of the Anand Karaj ceremony, under proper custody and police escort. This arrangement shall enable the applicant to participate briefly in his brother's marriage without compromising the interest of the

Further, the Superintendent Central Jail, Amritsar is directed to make necessary arrangements and to provide adequate security for taking accused/applicant Ankit @ Aniket in custody for attending marriage ceremony of his real brother as stated above and thereafter to lodge him back in the jail. It is also directed that the process of attending the marriage ceremony must be confined as purely private family matter and applicant should not be allowed to intermingle with any other public including Media. Applicant shall not be allowed to be interviewed by any Media Agency and police authorities as well as family members must ensure the same."

Considering the gravity of offence, this Court agrees with the directions already issued by the Court below, and petitioner cannot be granted unrestricted liberty when he is alleged to be involved in such a serious offence. Accordingly, present petition stands dismissed. 9.

However, keeping in view the purpose for which petitioner seeks interim bail, time period granted by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Amritsar, vide order dated 11.11.2025, allowing the petitioner to attend the marriage ceremony on 29.11.2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the time of the Anand Karaj, is modified, and petitioner shall now be permitted to attend the ceremony from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., strictly under proper custody and police escort, and immediately thereafter, he shall be taken back to the jail where he is presently confined. 10.

With the aforesaid modification, present petition stands disposed of.
