Present second petition has been filed under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 439 Cr.P.C.), for grant of regular bail to the petitioner, during the pendency of trial, who has been booked in a criminal case arising out of First Information Report, as detailed here-under:- Name of Petitioner(s) FIR No.

As per the allegations, ransom of 2.5 crores was repeatedly ₹ demanded from the complainant - Kashish Dhawan through WhatsApp calls. It is further alleged that a video call was made and a video clip was sent to the complainant's mobile phone showing one of the accused, namely Amandeep Singh @ Aman Balwan, firing gunshots at the house of the complainant. Two empty cartridges were also recovered from outside the

Learned State counsel has filed the status report dated 26.02.2026 and custody certificate dated 05.03.2026 in Court today, which are taken on record. Office to tag the same at appropriate place. Copies thereof have been been handed over to the counsel for the petitioner.

In the aforesaid status report filed in Court today, para No.19 reads as under:- "19.

Role of the petitioner and evidence against him: That the deponent humbly submits that the present petitioner Simratpal Singh @ Simar along with co-accused Amandeep Singh @ Aman Balwan under a hatched conspiracy with the coaccused persons Harpreet Singh @Happy and Simratpal Singh @ Simran, in order to scare the complainant Kashish Dhawan for making him ready to give ransom, had gone outside under construction outside Perrin Azure Resort of the complainant. There co- accused Amandeep Singh @ Aman Bhalwan fired gunshots and the present petitioner made video thereof in his mobile phone which was further sent to the co-accused Amandeep Singh, who further sent to the co- accused Harpreet Singh, who further sent to his cousin Sukhdev Singh sitting abroad and the same was sent to the complainant.

The prosecution evidence against the petitioner is primarily based on the voluntary disclosure statements made by the present petitioner as well as all the aforesaid other arrested co-accused persons with respect to involvement of the present petitioner in commission of crime.

Faced with the situation, learned Senior counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw instant petition at this stage. 6.
