The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking issuance of various directions. However, during the course of arguments, the learned counsel for the petitioner has confined the prayer only to the expeditious disposal of the case pending before the learned Magistrate. 2.

A perusal of the record reveals that a private complaint was filed by the complainant in the year 2016 and charges in the said case were framed in the year 2023. It is further submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that, despite the passage of considerable time, not even a single prosecution witness has been examined till date. 3.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances, this Court deems it appropriate to issue directions. Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of and the learned trial Court is directed to record the statements of the ANU 2026.02.06 15:34 I am the author of this document Chandigarh

witnesses as expeditiously as possible and to proceed further in the matter and decide the case in accordance with law, at the earliest, without granting unnecessary adjournments.
