The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondent Nos.1 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and take strict action in GDR/DD-Entry No.15 dated 16.04.2025.

Learned counsel submits that petitioner is though an accused in the FIR registered at the hands of complainant wherein he was arrested and now released on regular bail, however, in the cross version registered vide GDR/DDEntry No.15 dated 16.04.2025, no action has been taken, with regard to which, a representation dated 14.11.2025, Annexure P5, has been submitted. He thus, on instructions, prays that a direction be given to respondent No.3 to take action thereon, in a time bound manner.

Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has no objection to the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to look into the representation dated 14.11.2025, Annexure P-5 and to take appropriate action, expeditiously, in accordance with law.
